Am I the only one thats loosing interest in BRS???

I dont know exactly what it is but I have really started to look elsewhere for products and advice. In the last year or so it seems like the quality of content from BRS has gone down. I defiantly feel like they have become a giant in the reefing community but have lost their relatability with the community. There was a time when I would need some help and the first thing I would do is search BRS videos. Now Im like meh lets see what others say. I have noticed that they seem to support specific companies more than others. Im sure it was always the case but I don't feel like they have neutral or open-minded opinions anymore. All the stuff with Bertram has made me start looking to other vendors for supplies and even has me thinking if my APEX broke would I get another one or go a different route.

Anyone else feel like things are getting to commercial and taking away from the hobby or am I just burning out.....

For me shipping is getting ridicules sometimes a week and a half for something to arrive, this is why Amazon will end up crushing them.

I have started looking elsewhere on a lot of supplies simply because it seems like they are always out of stock for everything I normally buy.

Generally I've liked BRS and its videos esp, but some of the products I've not been happy with (sea weed esp). Generally, they do have the products I want.

I feel you, most the videos from them now are just product review/pitches. Less actual new info/research stuff. Im guessing Ryan was a lot of the video creation side of it?

I wish brs would go back to a company that sells product in bulk. They became the me too aquarium toy market. I still buy a lot from them but would like to see them go find venders to sell stuff in bulk. I don't need some name brand product. Research it, buy it, resell it for reefers. I would like to see them get into acrylic sales. ( i use estreetplastics) Be more of a supplier of diy items that are hard to find.

I lost interest after they bought out marine depot. Seemed like they started having issues with inventory stock right around then.

I've been using saltwateraquarium.com since. And planning on trying aquarium specialty.

I've still bought things from brs when they've been the only ones to carry a specific thing I'm looking for, but overall I get better deals elsewhere
