I posted the directions earlier (dissolve 6 level scoops (approx. 160 g) of Tropic Marin® All-For-Reef Powder in approx. 900 ml). If you want accuracy use a measured container and weigh the product.

That's the one thing I don't have, a magnetic stirrer. I just used an acrylic rod. Worked pretty well actually but just a lot of stirring, and stirring, and stirring, and more stirring. Makes me dizzy.

Go for a 2000ml as you want room as it's stirred.

***Correction. Look at video, may not need to go with the 2000ml***

Assuming it's not hygroscopic. But if you're splitting hairs that much for an additive you're supposed to be testing to verify, then maybe commercial products aren't for you.

I have been using all for reef for over five years one year on the liquid for my first two nano tanks, then I added a 120 gallon and a 40 gallon frag tank also my son added a 75 tank to the mix so I switched to the powder when it first came out on BRS. I have a 2000 ml glass beaker and a 1000 ml glass beaker, I have a nice digital scale, and I have a magnetic stirrer
I make up 1000 batches usually 3 batches to a session (not in any rush). Tip: if you follow directions then usually a batch will come out right on the nose but if you see any undissolved powder on the bottom of beaker after 30 minutes stirring then it’s to thick I just add a small amount if RO/DI and stir until all dissolved no sweat. Then when all mixed up I go around and fill all my dosing containers. I usually only mix all for reef between 45 and 60 days.

Maybe you are quoting the wrong person. I'm not the member who is asking to test accuracy. I posted Tropic Marins instructions when using the powder product. Use the scoop or measure it - whatever works for you.

I've not had issues with mixing or storage and I make up 3600 ml batches and can only share my experience.

When I said "if you're splitting hairs that much" I meant a theoretical person who is so concerned with the measurement that they weigh out 160 grams instead of just going with six scoops, and not you specifically.

I think that since you're supposed to measure the results, the calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium in your tank, that using AFR is self correcting, and such concern is pointless. Close enough is good enough.

Take Sunday to Sunday measurements over a week every month and adjust up or down based on calcium and alkalinity readings. Test more frequently in the beginning until you reach steady state. I like the digital tests from BRS. I put AFR on a Red Sea dosing pump at 75 mL/day. This only applies to my tank, but my calcium levels are always perfect. I do have to add extra alkalinity here and there.

Intereresting. I don’t care as much about calcium and dose based on alkalinity so my alkalinity stays good and my calcium drifts higher over time. Flip sides of same coin I suppose

I use a plastic 1000ml pitcher to mix. Cheap and pretty certain it will work with a magnetic mixer.

Shoot. It’s 6 scoops to 900ml? I definitely screwed that up… ugh. Did 1000ml ILO 900ml…

@Sdoutreefer, you might not be concerned about it, but I would not worry about It either. Your mix is just 11% diluted, but honestly there is also error in the scoops too so it could be more or less close. There is error in testing too, so again, not a big deal in my opinion.

When you calculate your dose bump it up 10%. I’ll assume you calculate your dose based on alkalinity. You’ll want to test your tanks alkalinity after you start dosing to verify you have the right dose. You may have to tweak it up or down, but that’s normal. You probably knew all that but figured I’d for share the benefit of someone.

i just buy the large container and dissolve it entirely in 9 liters then after add water to the 10 liter mark
