I don't have a Facebook account, but I'm tempted to create one to get more info on what you posted! I've been nothing but pleased with my Alkatronic and Dosetronic, a nitrate and phosphate tester from them would be great.

Well,
Their just about to release their next generation of lights too.

So what exactly will this new unit test? When are you expecting it to be available?

Anyone know what the difference is between the “second batch” and “third batch”? It sounds like the second batch comes with the quiet kit and the third batch they include a small bottle of reagent? Any other difference?

Does anyone know where to find the IP address? I have a list of things on my router that I'm trying to rename/organize. But I can't find the Alkatronic IP info anywhere :/

Edit: MAC address (on back of unit) does NOT match anything on the router list... surely the IP is listed somewhere?

Here’s the info from the focustronic website. Appears that in addition to the quiet kit, it also includes a safety drain.

Mine shows un in my router named as the Alkatronic serial number. I also read in the manual that it can show up as raspberry-pi

Not sure.

Got the batch 3 in spring.

Came with reagent and ph calibration probe solutions.

Mastertronic:
With an alkatronic for alk, it will test cal, mag, nitrates and phosphates.

It should be able to control and dose cal, alk and mag with the Dosetronic.

Have not seen an release schedule.

Does the intake tubing need to be the smaller 3.2mm, or can we just use typical airline/dose tubing?

You need need to use the alkatronic special tubing for pumps A and C. You can buy from coralvue by the foot.

I used regular 1/4” tubing for pumps B and D.

So it seems there’s an update coming for the Alkatronic. Does anyone know what all is included in the update?

Seems like what is being advertised as a big deal is pH readings with each test but have to admit that doesn’t get me too excited...

A few things I would like to see:
- “status” on the app to tell me if it’s testing
- amount of reagent used in each reading in history table
- if disconnected or restarted, perform a new test and send an updated reading to Apex, instead of defaulting to 7
- ability to program the unit for a longer water sample intake tube length
- ability to change the washout mode retest dKH threshold value... I find that 0.2 dKH is too low
- smarter algorithm for Ca reactors integration with Apex... Alk will keep rising after CO2 is shut off, and will also keep declining after CO2 is turned back on due to equilibrium lag time
- any others?

Here’s what’s posted on the FB page about the update

I think Jonas said, that the new firmware update will quiet down the smaller pumps B and D, like A and C.

Must be slowing down the rpm's on those.

So it seems there’s an update coming for the Alkatronic.

Yeah,
I posted on the user members facebook last night.

Jonas responded back that he new firmware update is about two more weeks out, before the release.

He's showing the ph readings, but I can't remember if it supports an 5' or an 7' long intake line.

The led screen will look a lot different too.

Pumps B and D should be silent, and some more fail safe features have been added.

lol
I'm not taking it until other members show that it's running smooth.
