yeah so the schedule 80 will be epoxy’d to the base with JB weld steel stick.
I haven’t 100% decided if I want to drill holes into the square beams and put outer braces or not yet. I feel like if I did that, this puppy wouldn’t budge an inch. But also it’s more cut surface which means more areas to rust.

and more tools to buy. I only have wood grade drill bits.

1- What I will do is build one from 2”x4” s
2- cut out bottom side braces and use flat steal plate and bolt it together so if you decide to move you can easy disconnect for easy moving.
I wouldn’t recommend epoxy because you won’t be able to remove it when you want.

Moving in the right direction!!!!
This puppy is insanely sturdy with the JB weld steel stick. HIGHLY recommend that product for steel-steel epoxy jobs.(( I may have gotten on top of this puppy and wiggled around to make sure it would hold me- even though I’m only about 1/4-1/3 of the total weight that will be applied. When I’m on it it barely wiggles.))
Gosh it feels good to be handy. NOW, gonna let the steel stick cure a little longer and find a buddy to help me work on putting the tank on the stand later this week!

Ayeeee I love that idea! I am definitely adding “hobby aquarist” to my resume. Living in Oklahoma and planning on applying to only coastal jobs once I graduate. So hoping this helps (on top of my 4 years of being a marine biologist at an actual aquarium)!!!

Nice work, following. Cube tanks are my favorite. Here's mine.

I have a 3 piece rock structure I made using the E-Marco cement that have been soaking for a few months in the 2 - 40 breeders that are on the right side of the picture. Planning on moving the rock structure over to my 60 cube within the next 2 weeks.

So.
I purchased a 90g tank sumpstand and accessories for $400 from a guy that’s going an upgrade/downgrade from 5 tanks to 2. It was too good to be true.
so everything is loaded up, and I’m taking it home. I’m super excited to move my 36 to a 90.
well. We get the stand in the front door and down the hall. And you’d never guess it. Like NEVER.
Yep. You guessed it. Stand won’t fit. And no, to answer your first question I did NOT measure the door frame before purchasing this stand and I did NOT ask him to measure the base of the stand. Just the tank. Dingus.
I am unable to rip apart the door frame since this is a rental. So I need help on how to build a DIY tank stand for a 90 gallon cube that is 30”x30”

please save me some heartache. I do not want this baby in my living room as a compromise. I want it in the office where I can daydream about scuba diving right when I’m about to pull out my hair.

Does the room have a good sized window? If so, you could get a window fitter to remove the whole window frame enabling you to pass the tank stand in to the room and then re-fit it.

Even old windows come apart. If the window Is wide enough but not opening to 31" you can still maybe take that window out. Does it have the weights in the sides? Should be a couple trim pieces to take off and tie the weight rope of so they don't fall in. Window should pop out.
