I am new to saltwater my tank is a 55 gallon, it was set up with live sand, all dry rock, cycled out, then a green spotted puffer was added, a purple dottyback and a damsel fish.
I use instant ocean reef crystals for my salt mix, my Temp stays at 81 degrees and my parameters are staying stable.
36 days ago I added one of the pink carolinne algea in a bottle, and 3 weeks ago one of the purple helix carolinne algea in a bottle.
I now have this green and reddish/ orange rusty looking stuff exploding in my tank, on glass, heaters, power heads, rock, and in my sand.
Google lens says it is in fact carolinne algea, I would love more opinions on this from seasond reefers please. I have attached some pics.
My end goal is adding soft corals easy to start with, but understand if I can't get carolinne going, I probably shouldn't proceed just yet.
Any ways to make it short there is not an ounce of purples or pinks from what I can see any where, so questioning if Google lens is accurate.
Thanks anyone will to give some thoughts
