So lately I have been having an issue with STN/Tip burns, anyone have any suggestions? The highest my alk has ever been is 8.8. After seeing the tip burns I dropped it over the course of a week to 7.5 and have maintained that ever since (I have a Trident). I dose 20ml of Acropower every 3 days, and I feed pellets/reef roids 2x a day via an AFS and frozen once at night. This has been going on for a few weeks. I have attached pics below, I also have almost no algae growth elsewhere in my tank, with a little bit of cyano in my fuge.
Lighting: 2x radion XR30's, par levels range from 220-260 in areas with SPS, and slowly going to ramp it up.
Flow: 2x MP40's at 60%, 1 reefbreders RPM.
Filtration: Clarisea sk3000, fuge with chaeto, Royal Octopus Regal 200INT, carbon in a reactor.
Other Params:
NO3: 0.. Trying to get it up.
PH 8.3-4
PO4: .06ppm
Cal 413
MG 1374
Salinity 35ppm
90g cube, about 7 months old. I have tried cutting off the affected tips, but haven't had luck with that working. I also haven't added any new corals in months, so I don't think its pest related. A few corals are also STN'ing from the encrusted base.
