Plz help ID this! Sorry for the pic quality. Best I can do RN.

The past month or so while I’ve had Covid/pneumonia, my husband has been trying to do his best keeping things alive. Major dinos and algae of all sorts… My Rose BTA was happy in never moved until he did a tank blackout for 3 days to try and help slow the outbreaks. It got mad and moved a ton until we lost it a week. I found it in the filter sock and thought he was a goner…but he opened up after putting him in a jar of tank water in my window! Put him back on a rock and he’s already opening up! Looked next to him about 2 inches and to my horror, see some random skinny tentacles…maybe a half inch max. It’s the only place in the 150 gallons I can see anything like it! IMG_5822.jpeg

I can’t view the video on my ipad, videos don't work and the picture is not great but yeah if I had to guess its a aptasia.

I wouldn’t stress too much as nearly every one gets them at some point.

Should I try and manually remove?

Also, I checked the video and it’s not just you. It won’t let me view either. Tried to upload one more time just in case.

You can but try and do it outside the tank if you can, or if you have to do it in the tank, try and cover it with glue or epoxy or similar, when it retracks try and cover the hole so no chance it can come back out and release babies, dont think anyone knows for sure but stress may make them spore new apts, covering them can help prevent them breeding….but once you have one chances are you have others so it’s normally now just a case of keeping on top of them.

Fish, file fish can eat them but can also eat coral, peppermint shrimps some do some dont touch them, worked for me and the best are betghia nudibranches but can be hard to find and they only eat apts so die when they are gone but your apts may still come back when the nudies die so you start again and some fish eat them, think just mainly wrasses eat nudies…welcome to the club.

Ok thank you! Learning the hard way! Looking all around now and I can’t find it anymore

Can you post under white lighting?

I agree looks a little thicker on the tentacles
I have noo-psyches and the app is SO difficult! I have them hooked master/slave, but the app NEVER lets me modify or edit schedule or settings. I’m working g on it though
