I purchased these ai primes new in march 2021. Both fixtures had visible spectrum differences but ai said it was normal. Now I just noticed the lens melting and took it apart to find out the UV and Violet diode have melted and are completely fried. I do not recommend these lights. Too much power in too small of a package. I ran all the channels below 80%.

I called them and they gave me a fedex postage to send them in. I asked what it was going to cost and they avoided the question entirely. They said this shouldn’t be happening. We will see once I send them in.

Lol, there are quite a few reports of people online with this exact problem. I think they might be playing dumb. Hope they take care of you.

Ya super funny. Giant conglomerate light company makes ****** lights and the consumers are fine with it. Don’t buy this junk.

One of mine has done it. I just pulled the dripping plastic off and let it ride. I turned up the red and green out of curiosity and that melted it also, lol.

For what it’s worth I used to grow lots of algae with blurple lights. Seemed fine without lenses.

Horses for courses. I wasn’t too chuffed when mine melted but seems to have had no impact on the tank.
It’s not just the lenses the actual UV and Violet LED are fried.

So gutted to have discovered mine has also melted bought brand new in May 2021. These are the settings I’ve been running on my waterbox mini peninsula 15. The screws have started to rust too. It’s just hugely disappointing. £225 on a light that does this

This is exactly why I choose lights that are made by actual light manufactures and not random people in Pennsylvania (no offence PA).

Decided to switch to RedSea ReefLed 50’s on both tanks. Melting is not acceptable…they should be ashamed of themselves.
