I have the opportunity to to purchase two AI Hydra 26's with the controller shown in the photo for $100. I'm told all the LED's work, but they are not sure about the controller. Supposedly these items came from the teardown of a working tank, but I have no idea how long they've been sitting on the shelf.
The lights would be pretty useless to me without a controller, so I would like to make sure it works before I buy. After some brief research, it appears this controller can connect to the lights via cable or wireless. The details are a bit sketchy, but it sounds like the Hydras connect via a built-in Bluetooth connection and the cable connection is for older models like the Sol. If so, is it possible to just power everything up and test it real quick, or do I have to go through an extensive setup and pairing process to use the controller? Is there a simulation mode or something I could run? Is there anything else I should be aware of before making this purchase? Is this a good deal? TIA
