Nice Tank, I'm taking mine super slow, Once we move the TV upstairs i will have more room on the shelves by the tank and i will add some 5-10 gal tanks for quarantine and can add more fish.

Update coming in a few minutes

So here is a bit of an update

Livestock,
2 Clownfish
3 Banggai Cardinalfish
1 Wheeler's Shrimp Goby
1 Blood Read Cleaner Shrimp
5-6 Asteria Snails
1 Blue Tuxedo Urchin
2 Emerald Crabs
1 Hermit Crab, blue legs
Thousands of Pods

Sump has been replaced with a Skimz UP36 Sumpro Sump. Fit right in to replace the 40g Breeder i had, just had to change the drain lines a bit to fit the new drain locations. Emergency drain is dumping into refugium section. Have Cheato in there for some nitrate removal, but i may DIY a scrubber later once i have more bio load. It needs to be cleaned and i am too ashamed to take a picture....Maybe tomorrow....:p

My IceCap K2 Skimmer was doing great, but it was a PITA to get the cup off to drain, so got a skimmate contrainer, but was still annoying to clean so it was pushed to the side and i got a new baby.

Skimmer.jpg

Skimz SK 252, BRS had them at like 75% off a few months back and it looked good to me. It takes water from my skimmer sections dumps it into the return area. It has 2 pumps under it, one takes the new water in and mixes it, the other acts as a recirculating pump. This thing is no joke, its a huge upgrade in size from the K2, didn't really see that when i bought it..wife didn't look amused when the box showed up.

Bought a Jebao 4 head doser for various things, and the BRS 2 part system for Alk, mag and cal.

But enough talking here are your pictures.

Anyone know they the stick is? its all brown no branches and polyps about 2mm long off it, Fish store threw it in with the bunch i got a few months ago. Its happy as can be moist days though.

Dead Plates, and Monster.jpg

Who can see the monster in that picture^^^^^^^ she is a real terror...ugh.

Finger Coral.jpg

Urchin took a stroll by and knocked down a couple frags, they seem happy where they landed

Palys.jpg

These are just brown Paly's, but as they grow they get some red and orange on them. Pretty cool.

And now the graveyard, Policipora, Birds nest, 2 monti plates, Hammer going out and a Tooth Coral.

Need to get better with my phone for pictures, or just turn the blue's off. Meh i'll try better tomorrow, after i clean that sump...

If you want pictures of something specific let me know.

Those are the new additions, I will be watching the tidal gardens live sale tomorrow and might get a few since they are only an hour away i can go drive and pick them up. Any chance to drive the RX-8 lol.

Will post Par readings in a few, need to work on MS paint skills. Based on playing around i need to turn intensity down...its a bit high in spots

The fun just doesn't end today, so I bought a 40W Pentair UV from BRS this week. I just got it plumbed in, siche 1.5 pump giving about 200gph to the UV.

I did the whole leak test for a few hours, no moisture making it into the quartz sleeve, did paper towel test for over 3 hours. Put the bulb in sealed it in and turned her on, about 30 min later GFCI pops. Of course its my return pump GFCI so fun times. Luckily my desk is right next to tank so reach over unplug UV and reset GFCI. I moved my lights to a different plug and plugged UV into its own outlet, same thing popped right away. Let power brick cool off, it was very hot, same thing, got about 30 min and it tripped GFCI.

I check the plug no arc burns, no obvious signs of a short. Inside the bulb looks good, guessing i have a bum power brick. Of course its past 5pm and they aren't open on weekends. So now i need to wait till Monday to get a hold of themfor tech support and maybe a new power brick.

Anyone have Ideas to try this weekend?

I'm gonna test it on a non GFCI and see if I can beat 30 min, but i'm not gonna run it that way, I like having a place to sleep and not a pile of ash.

Pentair is going to be getting me a new Ballast for the UV, apparently the one they sent out with these has a bit of noise generation on the ground leg, which creates issues with GFCI's, as it may put a tiny amount of current to ground.

So now just waiting on them to do their stuff and hopefully i'll get this going soonish...

Heading to pickup more corals tomorrow, will post pics.

Cool build! I’m planning on going the large cubish route once I finish my basement. I also need to get back out to Reef Systems soon. Are you from Columbus?

Newark, yeah cubes are fun especially if you can view all 4 sides. I think when I move next I may redo it with a central overflow and put it near a corner and build a small social bar around to sit and drink while watching. That will be a few years still.
