I thought we’ve seen pretty much everything by now from zoa eating nudibranchs to spionid worms.. but this is new. We do have Coral RX and have dipped these acans before. So nothing has changed in terms of parameters, lighting, placement etc. All of our other corals and anemones are doing excellent. But suddenly about a week or more ago our acans started not opening all the way and then the skeleton started showing on one. I tried spot feeding that one, the worst one, and when the pipette puffed the shrunken polyps, they floated away like they weren’t attached. So I turned the acan upside down and gently shook it to see what other polyps were no longer attached and I found this large sack beneath, which prompted me to look under all the acans. I found more sacks and under one was a weird white swirly thing with a reddish creature coming out that appears to have numerous legs (see pics). We’ve had these acans for about 3 months if not longer and up until recently had always been plump and vibrant. These things underneath must be causing them to deteriorate. These acans have also always had those pesky spionid worms with the antennas poking out of holes. Coral rx and freshwater dips in the past never worked to kill them, but we were told they were harmless by the store and to just let them be. Not sure what’s going on beneath the acans. Help id please..
