Hey,just wondering if anyone woukd be interested in doing a grow out on some chalices..not really set in stone on what ones and from who yet...all i know is ive got an eye for the bright colorful and stupidly expensive ones everyine else likes.as well...go figure. Lol :) anyway, it seems like a grow out/group by is a pretty good way to go if youve got the patience for it.....in that u get more coral frags for the buck. I just never seem to catch any of the other grow outs, so i.figured id look for others in my same boat and hope to get in on one with them. So would anyone be interested?

First I would say we need to figure out the grown/experince. I would say lets keep it limited and no addons so that this grow out does not go on for a year or more. There are a lot of nice corals out there right now to choose from.

here are some I think would be nice to do.
Jason Fox Arabella $700.00
Jason Fox Electric Koolaid $250.00
Jason Fox Split Decisions $600.00 <-- This one I really like
Jason Fox Twilight Zone $200.00
Jason Fox Raving Psycho $200.00
WWC Mellow Yellow $250.00
WWC High Octane $400.00

Joe has this one up.

Ian the first mother colony is hot. but the frag does not look anything like the mother. Is this a lighting issues?

it's not my mother colony or photo, it's the guys that I got the frag from and it's obviously a little saturated. That said it's not hard to tell that it's an insane chalice never the less. Green rim on the blue parts and orange rim on the red parts? Forget about it :D

Both have healed have healed pretty dang fast compared to other chalices(the Crush came fresh cut) and I expect them to grow at a nice rate which might be something to consider in a grow out.

Regardless of what corals you decide on, best of luck! :D

that all sounds good to me...unfortunately BillyC had to back out tho, so if were gonna go with 5 guys we need 2 more to go in with us. We definitely do need to figure out whos gonna be the grower, however i think we should wait to choose that til we know whos all in first......then we can decide whod be best for it. Also, like i mentioned in the pm's to u guys i think it'd be a good idea once the frags have a couple eyes to split em and then we can have 2 people growing frags, that way it splits the risk up 50/50 and also helps to speed up the process a little bit. Not only that, but God forbid we should lose a frag, there'd be another one growing in another tank that we could eventually use to recover the one that died....hopefully we wont need that tho, but better safe than sorry.
