Well, not a great weekend on the reef here - trying to figure out what is going on..

Yesterday, found our new white tail DOA in the AM. She was been with us for 5 weeks and eating up to the night prior.

Today, found our royal gramma DOA in the AM. She was with us for 16 months didn't show any signs of issues that I could tell.

All other inhabitants seem fine, swimming, eating, no obvious signs of stress, markings etc. 2 clowns, 3 PJ cardinals, melanurus wrasse, lawnmower blenny, yellow watchman goby and pistol shrimp. Snails are actively laying eggs on the glass.

Ran some testing and currently prepping for a 10 gal, ~25% water change. RS is from the Red Sea kit, H for Hanna testers.

Nitrates are high, phos are super high, dKh is up from its typical 8.5-9 to 9.9. I only ran these once, will do again 24/48 after the WC.

Stress from the white tail addition in here?

Elevated nitrates for some time causing issues due to heavy feeding?

I've been changing 5 gal, ~12% weekly..

Well clearly not out of the woods here.. looking for advice and about to run to Petco for a quick 30-40g hospital tank, diatom and some meds :/

Yesterday noticed spots on the smaller clown and the cardinals looking rough with cloudy eyes, frayed tails and some spots/mucus almost.

Today, the smaller clown is on the sand bed, moving but not much and clearly not well.

Have a lot of reading to do on Ich, Brook, Velvet etc and not much time ahh :/

Any advice welcome!

Assume for Ich, pull and treat w/copper or?

To note the white tail died 6 days ago, Royal gramma 5 days, no immediate drama after that. White Tail was introduced 5 weeks exactly prior to death.

Fiah below, some of the white spots are from the glass, some are on the fish..

From last night:

All 3 PJs are at different levels of "not great"

Otherwise wrasse, lawnmower, YWG and bigger clown seem fine for now..

Crap man no clue. One monster I have yet to fight. Good luck. I know others have way more insight.

I would say a tank kit that comes with a black lid and led lights would be good. The lid helps with evap and the led lights are just enough to see well for observation and to check progress, and should be off unless you're looking them over.

What your treating though I have no help there, those pj's look different than the clown so I have no clue.

You can give the affected fish a FW dip - no more then 5min. Pull if they start looking more distressed.

To be honest, the PJs look like velvet but that would have killed much sooner since the white tail and gramma.
Hmm should call in the pros on this one I think. @Jay Hemdal may be able to help diagnose.

what meds do you have on hand?

Thanks Sam, just picked up all Petco had, Fritz Coppersafe basically. Have a 10g tank heating and mixing now, Sicce 120 external filter to plug in also. No copper test kits there.

Should I FW dip on the way to the hospital tank?

Also will be heading to the LFS tomorrow AM, they have more supplies and likely some copper test kits.. Clown is still on the sand bed but moving, will be heading after him first.. Cardinals still swimming, definitely ain't right though. Will add pics as I can here.

Appreciate all the inputs..

the FW dip will get some of the parasites off the fish and give it some relief. Do it in a black or dark bowl.

make sure the temp is ok though.
