Agree…as long as we are all clear.. that it is mostly about the new coral.. and only a little bit about “moving stuff”

Safe travels!Alrighty, getting ready to leave the tank for 8 days. WC done, some GHA removed, ATO sensor cleaned and tank filled, feeder filled and tube cleaned, skimmer emptied and turned slightly lower, etc. I have a 90 degree elbow for the cup drain on the way (should be here about 1 hour after I leave, go figure), planning to run it to a bucket for any week+ away from the tank. Next time.
Having a battle with my Melanurus Wrasse, he opposes GHA removal by now attacking any colored toothbrush I put in the tank, so that's fun...
Also increased the pump timer on the Avast auto feeder to better clear it out, feeder keg runs for 2 minutes, 3x per day, pump runs for 15 to follow.
Lighting duration also lessened by a few hours hopefully to decrease the algae nightmare awaiting my return. I'm definitely looking for an electric toothbrush during this trip...
Since I'll be passing the LFS, I'm going to really beef up the CUC also. And I'll be ridiculous if I don't grab a frag or two...
Also, the Rhodactis split appears to be going well as far as I can tell..
I cant stop thinking of the 'dremel' syphon... I have it completely designed in my head... I'm deciding on brushed or brushless motors...
If so, might try "attacking" back, just to see if it backs downEither way this could be a game changer
I'll be back with my tank next week to assemble my electric toothbrush syphon. I'm thinking pretty much like your algae remover, plastic rubber banded around the brush, rubber banded to a syphon, etc..
Only question is, will my melanurus wrasse attack it...
If so, might try "attacking" back, just to see if it backs down
There really isn't much to do Alaska I see.Might cause a battle-royale
SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY, SPINNY BRUSH TAKES ON MR WRASSE. WE'LL SELL YOU THE WHOLE SEAT BUT YOU'LL ONLY NEED THE EDDGGEE!!
Second flower pot is probably an Alveopora. Beautiful pick ups! Congrats!Alrighty, finally getting settled! Focus on this LFS trip was to boost CUC, since I haven't added much there since tank conception a year ago. Wife called me lazy, I said it's a team sport.
Added ~20 assorted snails, few turbos, 1 babylonia in there, 1 bumblebee, few nassarious, otherwise mostly Astrea type fellas and ladies.
No blue legged hermits on site today but I opted to go with some red anyway, picked up ~20. And put them all to work!
Also, so, they had some nice Goniopora... I picked up a monster.. She's acclimating. She was more than 2 figures, I did it anyway.
For scale:
And a gorgonian! Been eyeing these for a while and they had 2. Now they have 1. And the other flower pot seen here is also new today
Otherwise on the docket for this week is to continue the GHA battle. Maybe with some teamwork now.
Second flower pot is probably an Alveopora. Beautiful pick ups! Congrats!
CUC to consider - Trochus (3 or 4) and Stomatella (3 or 4)
They'll become self-stocking after a little bit.
I got mine as hitchhikers on purpose. Picked up 2 from Petco and now I have about 200+.Thank you sir! Next round I might do a Reef Cleaners order in summer here for a few of those specifics, always appreciate the tips.
Had 1 stomatella hitchhiker but I haven't seen him since the tank move, LFS doesn't typically stock any that I know of
Long tentacles or short?Somehow during the tank move a few months ago I lost 1 Alveopora frag (like, where did it go lost) and now I'm over compensating hehe, but it was one of our favorites
Can't wait to show off Bertha and get an ID under lights tomorrow
Long tentacles or short?
Not Alveopora. I was thinking Bernardopora possibly. Could a short tent Goni, but Bernard is more likely.Short, I'm thinking Alveopora also but will definitely appreciate pro inputs
