I'm sure an ATO will not be able to TO for such a long time, I basically close tanks so that the evaporated water goes back to the tank
I would watch your pH, etc. for a couple days just to make sure no changes with the lid. I'm also not sure that unless you put a top on that basically seals the top, that the water will not evaporate. However, there was a recent thread about lids - not showing much difference in the parameters. I would strongly suggest if you are planning fish, that if you need to go away - that someone check the tank daily. Just from my disaster experiences when I went on vacation....

I've had a lid since the beginning, when I stopped using it, I agree there was better pH but it was never higher than 8.0
I have buffers now but no pH testers sadly.

OK - in fact, IMHO, the truth is that even if you didn't do anything with your anemones(feeding), nothing would happen. However - if you were feeding, feeding should IMHO be continued - These organisms can (as you have already said) - tolerate extremes. If your return pump fails, though, when you're gone - could be a disaster - granted - this is unlikely

Hello, I'm going on vacation for about 6-5 weeks or just 41 days, and I need some tips so that everything could survive, but something will definitely die, my cousin will come once a week to do some things, but the problems Is that my anemones will not eat for that much time, I have cold beadlets and my cousin will definitely not know how to feed them UNLESS there's big pellets, but I only have small saltwater pellets, I don't know If I can give big freshwater food pellets to them, they also thrive in cold water and warm for a few hours but it's so hot that sometimes the cooler just gives up so I don't know If I should leave the windows open or completely isolate the room, I have 2 automatic feeders so that's okay, I don't have any fish in these tanks, only crabs and other cuc, there's fish only in the fw but I don't care about it, there's always almost 0 nitrate in there, And topping up the tank for good salinity? Nah I placed big lids so the evaporated water will come back, but that makes my warm saltwater tank 30c ....
Have your cousin come over a few times before you leave so you can show them the ins and outs and what all it details.

I can't emphasize more what I said earlier - if you're going to have a reef tank - have someone that knows what's going on with it. Definitely - its not (normally - your situation is different since you have inverts only) - a good idea to just have someone come once/week

Exactly, I'll tell him while calling it's not that hard, all he will have to do is dose Phyto and zooplankton, check if everything's ok, anemone feeding and then water changes, by the way I like what you said earlier, not feeding anemones..
Never seen beadlet anemones eat in the wild but they actually do...

I'll continue feeding them anyway

I have 3 large (16"+) and 1 medium (9") Haddonis and 6 designer RBTAs spread across the DT & frag tanks. They just need light as their primary food source. I sometimes feed market prawns so they'll grow bigger/faster; however, they're fine without meaty food for a long time! I don't think that you'll need to feed your beadlets although I've never had them before tbh.

Water changes: given your bioload and inverts, how about skipping them for the 5-6wks when you're away? On my 150g SPS tank, I haven't changed water in 3.5yrs. The 60g tank prior to this tank -- 7+ years w/o a water change! In other words, why trust another person with a WC unless s/he is a reefer.

Good luck!

my jaw dropped.
This might only work in the fw, a little bit in the warm sw BUT he cold sw, never
I can't get rid of the yellow stinky water and 50 ppm no3, but I'll just do a 80% water change maybe, or 70

It has always been somewhat unclear which tanks you're asking about. ?

What do you mean — not sure why nutrients have anything to do with tank temperature and inhabitants?

On the SPS tank, no WCs and NO3 is very high — over 75 and thriving! SPS is growing like weeds. Old pic attached below — some torts are now touching the water surface!

I agree that no3 doesn't do anything in the tank, sometimes I have 100 and nothing happens

I leave my tank completely unattended that long (4-6 weeks) many times a year.

For feeding a couple of eheim autofeeders work well - one at each end of the tank so if one fails the fish are okay.

Skimmer is emptied using a dosing pump each day.
ATO is hard plumbed to filter.
2 gal containers of 3 part.
Profilux controller monitors and controls the tank

Been doing it for years.
