So I was prepared for vacation, but not prepared for my tanks to be destroyed
I'm gonna first see how much money I lost
226€~ (about 1000 with tools)
Not bad ngl, money matters more at this point than the tanks, cause I lost a lot of things suddenly and yes it's brutal what I just said now so hate one me if y'all want

If I had a time travel I would just tell myself to never make too much tanks, or just never make a saltwater I guess

Yesterday my cousin came to see and do water changes, the tank was GREEN it stinks and is cloudy as heck, he did a big water change but I don't know if that helped

maybe it's better now, I set up a camera to atleast see something, but there's too much happening, he also showed me the mithrax crab and it looked like a sausage I don't know what that weird thing was but I hope shedding

My automatic feeder gave too much food, and I guess everything is dead now, there was pellets everywhere even the aiptasia is freaking out, but the main thing is that I just have too much tanks and too much things to do, when too much things to do I can't do them very properly and there's a high chance that something bad happens, but I don't have enough tools

The main problem are the feeders, but even without the feeder problem something bad would happen, I really need to have only 2 tanks, the fw is not a problem, very easy too keep but I need to have only 1 saltwater and I can't decide which one to keep, but I pretty much want to keep the cold, or both if there wasn't any problem

I made a warm tank because I dreamed of having a lot of coralline, I wanted my tank to be FULL PINK and "algaey" this if it does good for a lot of years

I made a cold tank because I dreamed of natural seawater, making a mini beach and the low tide thing with rocks

My plan was to make 9 tanks but my record was 5 with 2 terrariums , it will be never possible so I'll just make 1 saltwater tank, 1 freshwater and a few terrariums with my pacman frogs and buy a mantis maybe?

It will be really hard to save the two tanks, and I need to make my decision now, even tho there's still a month

But who will take the live rocks tho??

Result- I'll revive the warm tank, the cold one I'll release the things to the beach where I was, or near it, it's the same ocean temperature with rocky beaches, I'll run the live rock tank for a while and not buy anything
The rocks will be placed in a plastic box with a pump, they don't like light much

Or I will keep the tank like it was

Or make a freshly new one, uncycled that will be safe for fish not like the other thing that has more aiptasia and viruses

did the tank have fish? Wondering if you could just not use auto feeders while away. Sounds like you had inverts but a decent meal before leaving and they can often just scavenge algae or what not.

I have taken down many a tank before due to time constraints. You can only do what you can do and it’s better to have one good tank then two poor ones.

I'd rather have 2 "rich" tanks, fw and sw, but no the problem is that the feeders killed my tanks, they dosed so much food that the water was yellow green stinky, I don't have fish in my saltwater but plan to in the future, I already had clowns tho

So for smaller tanks, you want a feeder like this, it doses exact amounts you put each compartment but it does only have 14 total compartments.

It should be fairly difficult to impossible for it to mess up and over dose this old school one.

This is the one I have and it runs on batteries. It is simply just a watch type mechanism and as it ticks away, it catches a little post you place to set and turns the food to dump it in at the correct time.

Looks like they got fancier rechargeable ones these days too

The ones that spin around and dose out of a hole are not appropriate for small tanks imo.
