He replied today: "Looks like rubbing mark from cardboard package during transit. Will not affect performance. I want to use eco-friendly packaging so stay away from Styrofoam and minimize PE bag. Unfortunately, units will have some transit rubbing marks."

There are some preset profiles you can use. My experience with the web app has been great so far (simple & easy to setup).
mine had slight rub marks but they cleaned up and the web app seemed really nice but no way am I gonna do these without a par meter.

I got my PAR meter. Looks like I got the one that'll need the 1.17 multiplier

Do y'all think it's ok to submerge the mounting pole? I plan to rinse all of it with RO water after use.

I wouldn’t.

Not necessarily because it is made of metal, because it’ll take time to dissolve - but because it may also contain contaminants, like small metal particles left over from manufacturing, or grease and other oily substances.

lol it probably will if you can secure it in place and at a comfortable angle.

If you have access to a 3D printer it’d be quite easy to make a proper mount for it.

I would just clean it first. Take it apart, Hot soapy water and 100% good rinse.

I learned I'm basically keeping my corals in the shade with my current light setup. This is after applying the 1.17 multiplier running my 4x XR15 pros at 50% & AI Blade Glows at 50% with the following spectrums:

This was my daytime "peak"

Lights 1.png

Lights 2.png

A few corals seem to be in good PAR for their species, but I bet I could get some better growth/coloration out of the SPS & torches with increased PAR.

I am going to swap over the Reefis tomorrow and see how they compare. I'll probably have to start those lights at 10% :grimacing-face:

I decided to just throw them on the main tank tonight and do some minimal adjustments and check PAR.

I found the spectrum that was closest to what I was running with the XR15 pros and then lowered the power to match the PAR I was getting with the XR15s.

I'll do some more adjustments tomorrow after work!

Maybe try the 2 of the new Orphek Natura? Just a little more cost than the XR15
for a coverage of 32”x24” with tons of PAR and proven spectrum?

Edit - didn’t read past first page lol. How you liking the Reefi? They seemed like a great bargain. Orphek undercut the market with these which might take sales away from them.
