I've never really seen people have much success with multiple basslets outside large groups in fairly large tanks or mated pairs so don't beat yourself up too much about it! Great tank! How's the mandarin doing?
The mandarin has been doing great! I regularly add copepods to the tank so he always has plenty to eat. I buy in bulk online sometimes but also pick pods up at the lfs every couple weeks.

Wow can’t believe it’s been over a month since my last post… work has been too busy.

Tank is still doing well. Had a huge battle with cyano, but I think I’ve finally beat it. While battling cyano my phosphates jump so working to bring those back into the .1-.2 window. Corals are still alive, but I need to get my nutrients back under control so they can thrive. I’ll try to get an update picture of the tank soon…

Fish are still happy with the tank… Planning on adding a few more fish here soon once they wrap up QT at the Queen City Corals. They now have a full QT system so I no longer have to do it myself.

Giving the tank a few weeks to get the nutrients under control then I’m going to look into filling the tank in with more corals.

While I've been neglecting this thread, I haven't been neglecting my tank :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:Uploading a new video of the tank today. Decided to quit fighting the sand and let it do what it wants... I like the look of it and it's much better for my acans. Everything has been looking good except for for the yellow goni... its only been like that for a few days so hopefully it will come back out.

Waiting on a few fish to finish QT. Will update once the new fish arrive.

Nice tank. What fish do you plan to add to it?
Thank you! I’ll be adding a melanurus wrasse first and then I a few anthias… they all need to finish QT and the wrasse is a little ahead. Hoping to add the wrasse towards the end of the month and the anthias in June

Been working on a few sump/plumbing upgrades to help out with tank maintenance and making my life a little bit easier… I added black to tint to some of my sump cover panels to help with unwanted algae growth in the sump…
IMG_6781.jpeg

I added two little magnetic lights to the top of the cabinet area which will detect motion and automatically turn on/off. The magnets let me take the lights down to recharge easily.

Got a new ATO system and let me tell you the size difference compared to the Apex ATO system is insane… this sensor and pump are tiny. I was a little skeptical it would work well but it has. This is the Hydros triple water sensor ATO which hooks up to my Hydros x10 sense port and the pump to the drive port.

Decided to remove the dual return pump setup and got a Vectra s2 pump and changed the plumbing layout.. This was not a fun change and will not be doing another plumbing change on this tank lol. I will say the use of unions was HUGE… This would‘be been 100x worse if I didn’t have unions everywhere. The UV sterilizer is still at work and I have a ball valve to adjust flow level.

There is still a small leak but I need a new bulkhead and barbed fitting to fix it… one is on the way and will be here soon!

Sal 1.025
Alk 9.1
Cal 460
Nitrate 5
Phosphate .23
Mag 1450
My nutrients are back under control… still working on getting that ideal balance of Nitrate and Phosphate, but at this point I feel it’s safe to add more fish and corals… QT is almost done and will update then!

Screenshot of the Corvalvue Hydros app. Pretty straight forward and simple to use. Pretty quick and easy to setup a device and keep it going.

When the Hydros Maven comes out, I will probably pick that up for automated testing and dosing. Planning to add a salinity probe around then as well.

Your tank is amazing! Excited to follow along. I started my Fiji 32EXT a few months ago and I’m doing a lot of stuff similar to you. Check it out if you have a chance!

Finally brought the melanurus wrasse home and she is loving it! Got a few new corals too... Next round of additions will come around July with a few anthias.

I have realized with my tank GFO is a must. I have constant issues with low nitrates compared to phosphates. So far GFO has been bringing my balance closer to that 1/100 ratio (still more work to do though). I have definitely enjoyed incorporating GFO into my tank, because I can feed heavy but not worry about my phosphates spiking.

Hope you enjoy the video!

Recently added the final fish to the tank! 4 dispar anthias and 1 helfrichi firefish. The fish have been getting along well, except for the first day. Tank is doing great and cruising.

So recently lost the rock flower anemone and yellow goni… not sure what happened to the rock flower anemone but maybe it just wasn’t meant for my tank conditions.

Everything else is looking great and growing well! Torchs look like they are beginning to split and the Duncan is huge. Crazy to think that started out as 2 tiny heads. Picked up a yellow and pink goni on Saturday and the color on it is awesome… hoping it will grow well with the more tank being more consistent

Tank looks great. How satisfied are you with this tank? Wish you went bigger? Looking at possibly getting one here soon for a good price and would love any feedback. Thanks can’t wait to see the next update.

Thank you! I’m very satisfied with the tank and the quality of the materials. With this being my first saltwater tank I couldn’t justify spending more money so for the price I’m super happy with how things turned out. I do plan on upgrading a few years from now to a larger tank but I had to start smaller and get comfortable before I went bigger.

Here’s an update on the tank. All the lps corals and the anemone are looking awesome. The birdsnest not so much but I’m hoping to figure it out. Tips look like they’re bleaching so I’m trying to lower the lights slowly

All the fish are happy healthy and getting chunky. I try to feed them well :)
