Got my reef pi almost done today. I need to do some testing and make sure everything is stable and working the way it's supposed to, If it checks out I'm hoping to have it on the tank by next weekend.

Added the reef pi to my stand. Or at least where it's going to be when everything in it is finished. I just used French cleats to hang everything off the side of the stand. Only thing left to do is figure out some cord management.

Reef-pi has been up and running for about 2 1/2 weeks now and everything is stable and working as it should be.

I'm working on adding dosing pumps, ph sensor and LED lighting controller to it.
Then after the first of the year I plan on getting rid of most of the soft corals and converting it to a mixed reef with lps and sps.

Well I decided to revamp my reef-pi set up so that things are a bit more robust and I have more options for running things. Also the enclosure matches the tank.
The new setup will be able to run 2 tanks my 14g cube and the 29g.
I added 8 more outlets, 2 temp probes that control heaters and 2 ato sensors for topping off both tanks. I have control over my OR T247 I can run both channels on timers and ramp them up and down for sunrise/sunset lighting and 2 dosing pumps.

Here's some pics of the build process.

I'm hoping to have all this running on the tank this week. I have to figure out how I want to hang my lights and get the smaller tank moved next to the 29.

Got my reef-pi installed and running on the tank with ATO, dosing pumps and control of my ORT247.
Still need to figure out what I'm going to do with hanging the lights the rack they are on is just temporary.

I moved my 14 gallon cube today and hooked everything up to my reef-pi.
The cube has an air driven skimmer/refugium for filtration and I'm running a 4 bulb t5 fixture for lighting.
Circulation is a Hydor Koralia 425 nano. Both tanks have heater control, ATO, outlet control and light control via the reef-pi.
As of now the 14 is just softies frags that wouldn't fit in the 29. Not sure what I'm going to put in it long term.
Still waiting for the sandstorm to clear up.

Got some new frags today to start the transition to an SPS tank. Lights were going out when I took these so I had to use a flash so the colors are a bit off.
The Xenia stalk next to the porcillipora is getting removed tomorrow.

So now that I have my reef-pi up and running on the 29 and I have some much needed stability, I'm planning on switching the tank over to an SPS dominate reef, and upgrading the 14g cube to a 25g cube.
The cube will be a softy tank and most of the corals in the 29 will be going back to the cube.

The new sps frags are my test frags to see if the tank stays stable enough to grow out some frags. I figure the Stylo, monti and pocillapora would be good test subjects.

My parameters for the 29 are:
Temp-78 with a .2 degree fluctuation.
Calcium is at 450
Mag is at 1400
Alk is at 10.6
Ph is pretty stable at 7.9 daytime and 7 at night.
Nitrates are at 10ppm
Phos at 0

Right now I'm just dosing Kalk with my ato and it seems to be keeping up with demand just fine. As demand increases I will switch over to 2 part.
I just ordered another Jebao WP10 for added flow and i will be building a DIY algae scrubber in the near future.

My OR T247 light is running on a 12 hour cycle with the blues coming on at 8:00am and ramping up to 65% then ramping down to shut off at 8:00pm. The whites come on at 9:00am and ramp up to 45% then ramp down to 0ff at 6:00pm. At peak lighting the tank has a nice 20k look to it.
I'm running the sump light (a 6500k led) on a reverse light cycle to help keep the ph stable.

Got my new wp 10 installed today and removed the large rock with mushroom from under the big leather. They were irritating the leather and starting to grow on the base of it.
I'll be pulling the large mushroom rock on the left out also. These things grow like crazy and I don't want them taking over the rocks I plan to put sps frags on.

So I got one of these Lux meters today to get some kind of idea what my LEDs are doing.

Testing at the top of the water with my blues running at 65% and whites running at 50% I am getting around 30,000 to 31,500 lux across the top with my lights 8" above the water line.

I was told if you take a lux reading and divide by 50 you have a good approximation of par.
If that's the case I am getting around 600 to 630 par at the water line.

That math sounds right to me. How is that compared to what you expected?
