210g stocking list!

Hi everyone, another stocking list!



Just looking to narrow down my stocking list (and change things if you have interesting recommendations! (I love wrasses)



Tank is around 210-218g plus sump, likely total water around 270-300g.



I will be doing them in batches based on aggression for sure, not worried about disease, anything wet entering the tank will be quarantined.



The tank itself is 70” L x 30” W x 24” H



For context it will be heavily filtered I have a regal 250sss skimmer and will be running filter rollers, UV, possibly a algae scrubber and a refugium.



The tank will be SPS dominate, with high end acros from my current setup (which I don’t really want to risk with angels). Will have some LPS like Gonis and Torches and meaty corals.

(Again I’m not even considering putting close to this many fish in the tank, just looking to narrow and explore other interesting options).

I have a similar size tank. You can see my fish list on my build page on page 7.
I have a lot of fish with a small protein skimmer and no refugium and I have to dose nitrate/phosphate.
I really love the magnificent foxface and the desjardini sailfin.
I really wanted a naso tang but I didn't think 6 feet was enough space.
I just picked up a solar fairy wrasse. The colors of that fish in person are amazing.
I do like the Christmas wrasse and the yellow Coris wrasse. I like most wrasses actually.
Good luck on your fish choices....you could always add more!

This is my planned list for a 300. Id say the orange shoulder, Naso, and Atlantic blue might get to big, but his could help add some fish to your list.

- maybe sub the green chromis for the blue chromis (if you can find them) …slightly less problematic if given space and a LOT less uronema prone IME
- never had luck with any of the Powder Tangs, whereas the Achilles were usually outta my budget ….Im slightly envious
- you can sometimes “group” royal grammas and other basslets when young….the interaction is interesting
- I have less problems buying all my tangs and anthias at the same time: not a absolute, just less issues

Would not mix species of annthias. I would suggest lyretails. and would start with more than you want. For example if you want 7 then get like 10. A few will kill each other off till they establish themselves is my experience. Also get a good auto feeder as you have to constantly feed them.

As for the powder vs Achilles: I would almost never recommend an Achilles. They are big, active, need tons of flow, difficult to QT.

there was a very long” mixing anthias” thread on the “other” big reef forum … long story short: don’t mix similar or all orange anthias together….I can confirm this unfortunately

I've heard that too, they basically need a system specifically set up for them. I originally wanted a powder blue too (well my wife did) but was talked out of it due to being highly aggressive.
