Hey all,

Long term reader, first time post. I have learned a ton over the last 2 years experimenting with my 90g standard and took that build very slow and did it right.

Wanted to share my build with you guys and may ask for some tips along the way from others.

Decided to go with a ballpark 150g build - 36x36x25 Custom Planet Aquarium Build with Ghost overflow. I will be building a custom stand and top that will blend into the space im putting it in. Running 2 Gen 4 Radions, 2 MP40, Bubble Mag 7, and got a sick bashsea smart fuge - check them out!. Most of the equipment im moving over from the 90 and will work nice with the new tank.

Coral - Mostly LPS and some SPS, also have 2 nice RBTA's (know the risk). Plan to stick with the same theme, mostly LPS and some SPS - may add 1 clam.

Current fish stock - Pair of designer clowns, 6line, Yellow Tang, Watchman Goby, cleaner shrimp and typical Snail/Hermit clean up crew, including urchin.

The tank will sit in a corner in my dining room - so 2 sides viewable. Planning to do a 2 island rock scape theme working from the back corner to the front corner with an open middle swim space and some random rubble or mini islands for 1 off corals.

Fuge area will be sectioned off in 2 areas - wet and dry. 1 section for the fuge, Apex DOS and ATO. The other section for electronics and storage. Currently have Tunze ATO, 2 250w Jagger heaters, APEX controller with 4 main probes etc.

Fuge will run chateo and marine pure blocks and will plum with PVC

Few questions from other large cube owners.

Flow - where do you place your power heads? I have 2 returns off one of the back walls and I am planning to add the 2 mp40s on the other back glass.

Fish stock thoughts? - I assume I cant really do most tangs because max distance will be 48 inches. So planning to add - Hawk Fish (know the risk), Anthias, Flame Angle (know the risk), 3 or 4 wrasses of varying kinds, blenny and 1 or 2 more.

Let me know your thoughts and I plan to update with pics through the process. Picking up the tank on the 30th to start the build.

Appreciate your thoughts and enjoy your Xmas.

That is a sick sump! Tank sounds awesome! But it's not a cube :p it's ok though, "cube" is used loosely around here lol.

Looking forward to seeing the stand and hood come together. Good luck on your build and Happy New Year!
