Some flow testing done today... from what I was seeing with this test, I may not even need to run the Tunze in the tank! Video uploading to you tube now...

Thanks. I'm happy with it so far.

I ran a test with the three 1" outlets and it made a huge difference in flow. It is much more rolling and no where near as turbulent. You can barely tell the water is moving to look at it, but it definitely is. Looks like I may have to put sand in to help make the choice...I am going to see if I can find a 5 way see about using four 3/4" loc lines.

Barracuda is physically too big to fit the space I have, so a dart it is.

Awesome deal on an awesome tank! Cool idea for shower fitting. Is there a way for you to remove it in case of clogging?

I can remove the whole thing or just the grate part.

It's all plastic, except the retaining screw for the grate which I removed and threw away. There it a little "latch" which lets you wedge the lid in place and since there's suction, no worries about it ever coming off.

I discovered something that I forgot... when using a steel stand, it's a MUST to put a piece of foam board between the tank and stand. Even though the pump is sitting on foam the harmonics of the pump is passed thru all the hard plumbing and into the stand ultimately which is heard as a low hum. Tolerable but I will be draining the tank to fix my mistake.

Almost time to add salt! Was playing with some rock trying to get a feel for how I'm going to do it now...
