Great job. What are the current water parameters?
How much does Alc and Calcium dispense?
How are nutrients exported from water?
Your aquarium and the result of what the corals look like, makes me ask many questions ..... I apologize for that.

Finally I am able to get my hand on a “used” powder blue tang.
I love this fish so much, but it also so hard to keep. On mg last try, the fish was died on the quarantine tank, overdosed copper.[emoji27]
This one has been eating and active ever since I introduced into the tank. Surprisingly, my purple tang loves to hang out with the new powder blue! [emoji3]

I took the net out for photo, and the lublock’s wrasse jumped right in front of my eyes, landing on the ground. I thought I lost him. But he recovered after laying for an hour on his side.
So net on photography it is! [emoji23]

The result as today test are:
Alk : 8.62 dkh (recently raised from 12 ml to 15 ml per day)
Cal: 490 ppm (raised with the alk. 15ml per day)
And out of curiosity, I also test for po4. It’s 0.02ppm. The results is not a surprise since I don’t notice a single algae grow in the system. Rocks are clean. Also colorations are kinda pale.

Hey. It's great that everything is getting better.
But I did not see the sand in the tank, where did it go?
And another question, how are such low levels of PO4 obtained?
It is possible a photo samp

As I said on previous post, I removed it. I gave up the wrasses game. [emoji30]
I think the bacteria and Marinepure working really effective. I even removed the chaeto to raise nutrient.
Got a new skimmer that smaller than the old one too. (Aquamaxx cone S-2)
Note that I have 9 fishes and feed 2 cube of brine shrimp + pellet everyday.
Here is the sump right now. Simple and maintenance free.

Very nice, I can't come to love these new designer sumps even though they are very functional, give me glass and a refugium every time!
Let us know what your levels do with the cheato out please. :)

Am i reading this correctly? You run a 13hr light period?

2hr Ramp Up
6hr Max Peak - 65% SPS AB+
5hr Ramp Down

"I have radions ram up from 1pm to 3pm. Max peak at 3pm to 9pm then ram down to 2am."

Sup dude stumble upon your tank build and I notice we are both on the same boat with the egg crates under the rocks. I want to take off my sand but I got crates 5pcs to be exact! I was thinking of putting some encrusting monti to cover it but still shows. What is your plan?

Yes. I have light on totally 13 hours.
I love to see the corals under bluish lighting, that’s why I have 5 hours of bluish from 9pm to 2am
Here is my light schedule:

What methods did you use to remove your sand?

I siphoned it out with water change. Then I lost my patience and started using fish net. And it’s was the reason I lost my tgc inner core and mini colony of rr pretty in pink. [emoji30]

If you notice, in the last picture I use small rubble rocks to cover the eggcrates. They are barely noticeable now.
Good luck removing the sand. Do it slowly.[emoji6]

Why do you say removing the sand with the net was the reason you lost those corals? I normally find when I blast my sand with a turkey baster that my corals look better the next day and have better PE from spreading everything in the water column. Maybe I should think twice about this..

Thanks mr. V. Thays exactly how i moved my sand out last time. Took a few months of water changes like you said. I am toying with the idea of removing it again.

In this system, I am dosing 12 mil each component not 120 mil! I use apex DOS.
I am not dosing Mag.

Is this the Cherry Bomb or what tenuis is this? very nice !

Tank is coming along beautifully V!...
Quick question, have you compared water test samples between your 45 and your 100?
Interested to find out the difference since your new tank is growing but like you mentioned a little "pale".
Keep it up!, love that powder blue[emoji6].

Well, I think since I documented the good, I should document the bad too.
Last week suddenly half of the frags/colonies in the system started stn from the tips.
First suspect was too high alk combined with too low nutrient. Well, alk was okay at 9 dkh but nutrient maybe low since I start dosing bacteria in the bottle.
I did 30 gallons water change and change new GAC and observed.
Dip all the one that stn, rtn and bring to my other system.
Been a couple day and I don’t see any new case of stn/rtn.
Losses: matt V rainbow envy, rr wolverines.
The other that rtn are coming back

I usually blow the rocks with turkey plaster too. Very good practice to keep the tank clean.
But we are talking about 50~60lbs of disturbing sand here.

Thanks mr. V. Thays exactly how i moved my sand out last time. Took a few months of water changes like you said. I am toying with the idea of removing it again.

How’s your system doing?

do you have the link to buy your two-part system for CA and kh?

I bought mine at BRS
Is this the Cherry Bomb or what tenuis is this? very nice !
It’s rr lady in pink. I pretty sure the cherry bomb and this one is the same. I am trying to acquire a frag of cherry bomb to compare.

Hey Mr Viet. How do you like the Aquamaxx cones2 skimmer? I’m thinking of getting same one for my build.

I didn’t have it for long. But it’s okay I guess. I don’t like calcium reactor so I switch it to doser. With doser I can dose alk at night so raise my pH a bit. And I don’t need to worry about the effluent clogged.

I haven’t. Still the only think I test is ALK. First because I am lazy. Secondly, I still believe this is a new system, and everything are just frags. They will getting better with time.
The powder blue is fat! And he is becoming a bully now.
