Price, quality, and options to mount light on tank vice hanging from ceiling or cabinet are important factors when choosing a reef light. I chose my current light because of the price and because it can be mounted slightly above my tank lid and maintain a low profile.

I guess if I ran across a light system that required complex maintenance, it would be an important consideration. Most I’ve seen, absent some legacy fluorescent or MH systems really don’t have many under serviceable parts.
