DAILY QUESTION: What’s your favorite success story related to upgrading your aquarium lighting?
So far I’ve only ever run one light as I’ve been in the hobby for just 3 years. If I win one of these it will be my first light upgrade. Either way there will be an upgrade down the road to an Orphek light.

DAILY QUESTION: Why is it essential to have a light that mimics natural sunlight and moonlight cycles?
It allows the coral to get the same cycles or seasons they receive in the wild. Which would allow for a better opportunity to reproduce your corals outside of fragging through possibly spawning.

DAILY QUESTION: Why is it essential to have a light that mimics natural sunlight and moonlight cycles?
I dont know if it is essential. I have grown corals with mh and t5 with just on off for years no thoughts about ramp or intensity or cycle. Back then I also never saw or heard of spawning corals. Now years later we have threads on spawning torches and acros. I dont know what lights these people are using or if in fact it has anything to do with lighting at all but in nature corals spawn and in nature there is a light cycle along with flow cycles. I think it cant hurt to try and mimic nature to the very best of our ability.

DAILY QUESTION: Why is it essential to have a light that mimics natural sunlight and moonlight cycles?
The more the lighting mimics nature the less stress for all of the tank inhabitants, especially the wild caught specimens. There is also a better chance of encouraging spawning behavior.

DAILY QUESTION: What experiences have you had with moonlight cycles and their effects on nocturnal reef activity?

I don't have any real experiences with the moonlight cycles and their effects on the tank, but while my tank is cycling, I did play around with the moonlight cycle.

DAILY QUESTION: What’s your opinion on the role of lighting in creating a balanced aquarium ecosystem?

I think all living creatures needs light. They can be for difference reasons but for an aquarium ecosystem, a balanced lighting allows living things to be active when light is on and rest when light is off.

DAILY QUESTION: How do you balance light intensity and duration to achieve optimal results in your reef tank?

I'm not sure right now, but I'll be playing around with the lights to balance it. For now as a starter, I'll be using the preset Helium program to balance the light intensity and duration.

DAILY QUESTION: What’s your favorite success story related to upgrading your aquarium lighting?

This is my first light, so no success story related to upgrading. However, installing it for the first time, I am glad it was successful using aluminum profiles.

DAILY QUESTION: Why is it essential to have a light that mimics natural sunlight and moonlight cycles?

I'm not sure if it is essential, but it probably does help to mimic the natural lighting since they do live in the ocean with natural lighting.

I’ve noticed better colors on my toadstool and my rock flowers seem to be doing a lot better under a kessil a360we
