Ok, so everyone wanted to hear my Clownfish story but I left you all hanging. Here goes:

I used to have a 5 gallon All-In-One aquarium. In that tank I had about 5 pounds of sand, 10 pounds of rock, a bunch of coral, and a clownfish. She grew into quite a monster and would attack me whenever my hand was in the tank rearranging coral that got knocked over or cleaning the glass. One day, I was in messing with a coral and she charged at my hand and latched on. I yanked my hand out of the tank and she went flying! She hit the floor with a thud. I quickly scooped her up off the floor and plopped her back in the tank - dog hair and all! For the next couple of hours she swam a little goofy and I thought for sure she was a goner. That was almost 5 years ago. To this day she has not bit my hand again - and yes, she is still alive and has moved tanks three times since then.

That's called old school teaching hahaha, any specific reason why clownfish bite?

Anyone have any ideas why these white spots may be forming on the right side of my monti cap?

Are the white spots growths on top of the cap, or spots shere the red flesh has peeled away leaving just the skeleton?

Territorial thing.
I had a huge Australian spiked cheek maroon many years ago and it lived down in the front corner.
I couldn't clean there so she just lived in a pile of garbage and algae.
Plus, the females are mean as s**t!

Because most of them are jerks when they become female. Not sure but I'm guessing it's their territorial nature. I think they're in the Damselfish family?

Any fish dropping sand or pooping on that area? Could be a change in flow if the powerheads haven't been cleaned lately. If stuff settles on a spot, that area can die.

Good morning y'all...:)

Texas Express !! sold his rookie card back in the late 90's for a few hundred bucks... ;)

white spots on monti could be a couple of things, new growth, debris pockets where crap collects,
sure hope not but look at night for monti eating nudi's
