I also read somewhere that they are fish that somehow encourage the more timid fish to swim more freely (I don't know how true that is), but it does seem to me that because all the fish are outside swimming all over the tank, they hadn't done it since the tank was mounted, at least not that I had seen.Their color really pops, beautiful!
