So I'm not exactly new but I still have n00b questions sometimes lol. Anyway I am setting up a new tank and the flexible hose plumbing is just a little too short (needs to be 1-2" longer), so the return pump isn't sitting on the floor of the sump, it's hanging from the hose. I will be getting a...
Hoping someone can help me with a design question. I have my ro/di unit in the basement and am trying to come up with an arrangement of holding tanks that allows me to capture both the ro/di water plus the 'grey' water that the ro/di unit generates so I can use it in my washing machine. Up...
How do I secure the flex hose plumbing to the bulkhead; Is there a glue I should use, or a clamp? The instructions are horrible and I asked before but can't remember where. I have the aqueon mega flow drain/ hose kit with flex hose and bulkheads and I'm starting to put it together. It's...

Let’s Mix it Up!
There is one undeniable fact in this hobby – WE ALL NEED WATER! In fact, two types of water. Clean fresh water (FW) run through a quality RODI system and the obvious saltwater (SW). Secondly, we all know what a water change is. This is not an article on whether or not water...
You have a lot of options now-a-days when it comes to plumbing an aquarium and that can make the task a bit overwhelming. There are quite a few different solvents, glues, primers, fittings, piping, and sealants all with their own particular purpose. To complicate that a little more each one has...
By definition a sump is a pit or hollow in which liquid collects, in particular. (Wiki). If you are new to the aquarium hobby, you may have heard the word sump before. In the aquarium hobby, and even in professional setups like those in zoos and public aquariums the use of a sump is by far the...
