So I noticed a new slug/snail in my tank that I most certainly have never seen. I haven't bought any new coral or rock in the past few months so I was surprised to see this. It almost looked like it could be a baby forming it's shell but I've never seen a baby snail so I have no clue. Any help...
I have tons of these all over rock and want to know if their a pest, bad, or hurt anything? And if there’s any crab or fish to get rid of them. Setting up a bigger tank and I wanted to know if I should bleach the rock to get rid of them and start over
Hi everyone, as with many we are new to Reef Aquariums. Just noticed this hitchhiker on my newer Zoas and wondering if anyone can help ID. Also are they bad ? Thanks
I’ve recently had an outburst of critters in the return section of my nano aquarium. My water parameter haven’t changed, livestock is happy, so I’m left wonder what these are and if I should remove them by cleaning out the return chamber.
Any and all insight and suggestions are much appreciated.
Please watch the whole video. I tried to the best of my ability to capture whatever this is. There's about a dozen that I can see on my glass. Coral all seem fine. I only have several zoa frags, 6 rock flower nems, 1 BTA, 2 acan frags. Can someone help ID and let me know if I should be concerned.
Hi all,
One of the bumblebee snails I bought turned out to be a hermit. Can anyone help ID this please?
I've avoided hermits my whole life because of their notoriety. Is this one reef safe?
Thanks in advance!
I've came across 3 of these so far in my aquarium. Just wondering if anyone can identify these and let me know if they're good or bad. They are about 0.75 centimeters long. Thanks in advance.
Hey guys, I’ve noticed these white speckles on my Scrambled eggs Zoa frag. It’s been happy in my tank and has grown several heads since purchasing it. Any idea on what these guys are?
I’ve had some people panic and immediately tell me it’s aiptasia. Some have said it’s white cluster anemone, which I am leaning towards. Or some type of colonial hydroid.
My tank is currently fish-less due to ich and going through a phase of dinos (talk about struggling.) today I noticed a small green creature on the live rock. Thinking it was a nudibranch, I captured it with a pipette. Upon further examination, I realized I had no idea what it was. I found...
I’ve had this snail for a couple of months, and didn’t think anything of the white spot that was on it. Tonight I was looking at everything, and saw this white spot open like a small clam.
It’s an almost pearl white, and very hard. Anyone have an idea of what it is? Is it going to effect my...
Hi, I got a free colony of bambams and there's this yellow thing on it that looks like a sponge but I'm not sure as I have never seen one. I also dipped the whole thing yesterday so is it dead? It looks the same as it did before. Are these little things harmful and if so, how do I remove it? Can...
So i dipped my goni in some Melafix Coral Dip and these two things came out. I don't think they are copepods because they are at least twice the size of the ones I see in my tank. Any clue what it is? They look like little shrimps and but I really am unsure whether or not they are copeods. Also...
Anyone can ID this for me? Today one of my hammers died. Last night it wasnt happy and looked extremely stressed. Sucked to see it that way cause it was fine just hours before in the morning. So i dipped it in iodine and put it back thinking its a bacterial infection. At midnight i came down and...
I have done some digging and but can’t seem to identify what this is and if it is harmful to my tank inhabitants. Grows on glass, live rock, and shells and seems to move/ grow by the day. Any thoughts?
.
So I'm not entirely convinced this is even a critter or hitchhiker, I've had this ricordea in my tank for awhile now and haven't added anything new in over a month. Found this random green growth on the rock my mushroom is on. It almost looks like a coral forming? I have no idea.
Anybody have...
I have a timer on my light so it turns off before I come home from work, when I turned my room light on I saw a small crab with a red body with white spots and white legs, he’s probably only about a half inch across, any idea what it is?
So I bought a used biocube 32. I haven’t got any livestock or coral yet but I plan on a seahorse tank so anything that stings is a no no. As soon as I set it up I started seeing small bristleworms, too many to kill by hand. Now I’ve seen a really big one, and I’m wondering if there are any...
Noticed these on the base of my coral frag, just wondering if it’s aptasia? If so will the lemon juice method kill them and leave the GSP coral unaffected ?
