Do you guys think they will bounce back? The favia looks the worst, and the mushroom looks likes it has some die off and caught a Halloween hermit picking at it. The mushroom also has some wired green stringy stuff coming out the mouth. I think I messed up placing them way to high in the tank...
Hi everyone! Been away from the hobby for a while but now I'm back!
There's a lot that's changed in the past 6 years and there's a lot of new corals now! That being said I was hoping y'all could identify a few LPS that I've recently obtained!
Thank you so much!
I need to make some room for new additions. I will be at RAP on the 13th and live in the High Desert (92345). We can work on meeting up because I know I'm far from many reefers. Let me know if you have any questions. All corals have been with me for over a year.
Indo Gold Torch $125 (I've had...
Just got some of my first corals the other week. Got this coral yesterday and the employees at the shop weren't certain what kind of coral it was. They said it was some sort of favia. Anyone know a more specific ID so I can research the best care for it?
I also noticed these dark spots on it...
What is going on with my favia coral - it seems to be dying from the middle. The dying section still opened to eat today. I’ve had it for 3 months from LFS.
Won this coral by bid just over a year ago. It was listed as ‘yellow eyed favia’. It was like 1 inch in size when i got it. It grows slow but it suddenly will have a growth spurt sometimes. Its now on a 2 inch plate cause it over grew the one it came on. I realised the polyps are getting bigger...

Hii I’m new here. Mostly looking for advise on growing my corals. I have a 29 gallon tank that I started in November 2019. This is my 2nd go on a saltwater tank. My first attempt was about 7 years ago with a 90 gallon that turned out to be too much for me. This time around is much more...
Hi, we’ve started noticing tissue recession in our 24k lepto and our cyphastrea which were previously doing really well, we also have a favia suddenly missing a chunk. In addition, a lot of our euphilia are not extending like they used to. Anyone seen this before or know what might be the...
Hello LPS Lovers!
I've got a 24 gallon mixed reef which is sorely lacking LPS but has plenty of softies and some SPS corals. However I am really looking into getting a brain coral, as they just look totally wicked and have a kaleidoscope of colors.
However I am wondering which genus of Brain I...
I'm a sucker for these corals and it seems like no one has made one of these yet. I think they're so incredibly under appreciated for the amount of color they provide to the reef and how easy they tend to be to grow!
Make sure to post your pics and names of your pieces in this thread too!

Hi all,
Dendros, Acans, Favia, Duncan, Frogspawn, Hammer, etc... When target feeding, do you have to feed each individual coral mouth/head for every parts to grow? Or will feeding one "distribute" the food to the entire colony?
Thanks!
Hi!
Advice for what seems to be an infection on my favia? I placed a Duncan coral on a rock and when I returned after being away for a weekend I saw that the Duncan was on top of the favia. Duncan coral was fine with no injuries at all. However, the favia seems to be in bad shape. Has anyone...
Hi all,
So I've never had much luck with Favia, but I wanted to try again.
I've had this watermelon favia for a little over a month (photo attached). I don't really know how to tell if it's doing well or not?
Salinity: 1.026
Alk: 9.1
pH (midday): 8.18
Temp: 79-80
Nitrate: .04
Phos: .10-.14...
So I got my FAVIA earlier this month and it seems to be doing okay but it’s got these dark lines on it and I can’t tell if it’s dying or just part of it? Everything looks okay that I can see…The Photo without the dark lines was from when I received it.
