Zoanthids grow so fast, and come in such variety. I like the gratification gained from fragging Zoanthids at a fast rate, which can also sell at the same price frags of Acropora sell, which grows slower if you were to be propagating acropora.
I think they're both great anyway hehe.

Zoa's are a pain in the *** in a mature tank just as encrusting corals do. They cover rocks in a blink of an eye and you can hardly control them.
Lots of reefers start with zoa's and lps but end up in the acropora zone.
Acropora love for me without a doubt!

Matthijs

I have zoas in my tank and they are through the 6th dose of death juice to kill them (yes - they are so resilent that nothing seems to stop them)... When I was a newbie - i was really proud that my zoas lived as long as they did (not very long) - and now I am hoping to be able to eliminate those zoas as they keep growing like garden weeds in every possible place, despite my best effots to kill them..

I used to like Zoe's when I first started 13 years ago. I have since gone to an SPS tank. I have some eagle eye's that I can't kill. I take the rocks out and scrape them clean, Put Franks Aiptasia on them they just keep coming back.

Oh @revhtree , how can you do this to me? It's like choosing a favorite child! :grinning-squinting-face:
On the one hand, there is the very colorful button polyps I started on, and learned to frag from.
On the other, are the mesmerizing sticks that I built so much pride in being able to keep!
It's a wash for me, I keep plenty of both on hand, and can't get enough of them! :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Anacropora is awesome...started with a tiny frag,,now it's a huge bush, and have 3 frags growing.
