I picked up this frag packed with polyps for $10 because I liked the teal colored ones on it. I couldn’t find them on the zoanthid.com ID database, though. I also can’t really tell what the other one is either.

Next question is, are these tiny because they are crowded on the rock? Or are some varieties this small? I’m curious if they’ll maintain that texture as they spread onto the empty rock around them or if they’ll get bigger.

Some varieties are absolutely TINY, so that shouldn't be an issue. It's been my experience that a single colony knows how "crowded" it wants to be, but several colonies will compete for space, so that might be causing smaller polyps along the border if they're "fighting," or alternately if the polyps are young. If the whole colony is the same size, then that's how big they're likely to stay.

I thought so too! I just placed it against the bottom of my rock, I hope it grows up along it! It still seems like it’s acclimating but a few of the polyps have stretched their necks out against it already.

Still don’t know what these are, but a month has passed and I’ve managed to get them looking a bit healthier. Here they are under white light. There are a couple random teal colored ones mixed in, too. Anyone have any ideas?
