Zoa food

What does everyone feed their to get the best possible color and health out of their zoas? I know zoas dont need to be target fed but does anyone have a magic recipe that makes their zoa colors pop out and multiply rapidly?


Do you guys use anything else besides calcium buffers for your tanks? Ive read about the Marc Weiss products such as Combo Vital coral additives to supplement their tanks. Anyone have any experiences with them? Any other magic potions do you guys know about and have used that works?

I wonder if anyone has done any type of controled testing on just what combo works for what. I have seen zoanthids consume everything from just light to mysis shrump and Cyclop-eeze.

Anyone with a science background want to propose a test project?

I use Cyclop-Eeze and DT's Oyster Eggs

I feed the fish Mysis...so I am sure some of that gets caught up in the zoos and palys as well

On my 55 I use the following
5 capfulls of Chromaplex 3 times per week-a total of 75ml per week
5 capfulls of Dt's 3 times per week-a total of 75ml per week
6 capfulls of Seachem Reef Plus 3 times per week-a total of 90ml per week.
I put in about 4-5 times the suggested dose, but I have alot of polyps, and everything seems good.
I do not know if it helps the color or the fact that I am running 400w MH on a tank that is 10in deep.Good luck!
