FYI the point is wild ones fetch a lot more because people believe they are perfect as mother nature is great a culling.

I would ask $250 for a grown out aquacultured and $350-$400 for a wild.

A LFS can price higher as they are a store front and have tons of people coming in and out of the store any day so can find buyers.

Aquacultured is cheaper as they are readily available and baby sized. You can buy one any time you want off Biota.

The wild ones will sell for more. Even a grown out aquacultured would likely fetch less then a wild one. Just like wild percula clownfish can fetch a hefty Thank You, never had an price.

You better check that purple tang. 6"-7" No how they give you such a low price but I sold 4" for 150 last year to a guy who said this was the steal deal for him on it. I am 100% certain quality and color and where they come from play a big role here.

I'd rather drop the coin on that, but I'm cheap so a 3.5-4" one for 400-450 is my ticket, :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:.

Hawaii is in the processing issuing commercial fishing permits again. We have heard this before, but it seems real this time. Anybody interested in a Yellow might be smart to wait a few weeks.
Don’t expect divers or shippers or wholesalers or LFS to drop the price of YTs to ‘old prices ‘…they now know what people are willing to pay and they’re not going to give up the profit.

pre covid, gems were down to $200ish and lower when you could snag one at Petco with their % off saltwater fish coupon.

Prices your LFS posted seem about right for today's market.
In the NY area, Petco Gems were about $420, during that sale period

I am not sure if i would ever buy from Petco. When i had my very first saltwater setup , i bought a coral beuty that infected all my fish and killed about 4 of them. Ever since i stayed away from them no matter how good the price is.
