I just got a yellow tang about 2 days ago.. he is very little and is in a 40 gallon for now and i will be upgrading by the time he outgrows it.(which i know will be soon) I’ve noticed this white marking/line on his side, it’s only on his right side.

If it helps, he has been very shy and has been eating pellets only if they fall in front of him and hasn’t been interested in the nori i offered. He stays to one corner of the tank 90% of the time.

It is the mark on the bottom as i am aware the line above it is normal.

White line is normal for most Zebrasoma tangs when they are stressed or first thing in the morning. It's more prominent in juveniles than adults. No need to worry unless it's not eating or something else is causing it stress. Is it being bullied into the corner?

It is not being bullied.. only tank mates are 2 clowns, and i know that the bigger white line is normal.. but the smaller one below it is normal as well?

also.. i have noticed that it is protruding from his body, it is on the outside of him, not the inside.

Honestly didn't notice the smaller marking at first. No it's not normal for tangs. However it doesn't look like disease or anything external like from scraping on rocks. Keep an eye on it. Most likely a blemish IMO
