I am an anemone lover through and through, but even I can't deny that some anemones are less than desirable in a reef inhabited by other anemones and corals. Or maybe you're one of those people who can find something to love about these alie... I mean anemones. :)zipper-mouth-face:)

Some of the majanos are better looking than any of the aiptasia . . .

There are butterflies and angels that will eat both, though berghia will only eat aiptasia . . . that having been said, the Klein's butterfly I hired for the job (not blue-head) also ate almost any other coral I attempted to introduce (got rehomed), and the emperor angel (who has left a few majanos - fortunately the green ones with pink tips that look like mini-BTAs) absolutely adores a snack of zoanthids. (He's also the tank boss - kinda like a beautiful silverback gorilla with blue and yellow stripes.)

The aiptasia-eating butterfly, the one with the orange bars and ocellus, doesn't seem interested in any other cnidarian. In fact, will only eat clams & mussels in the shell.

You pays your money (sometimes lots of it!) and you takes your choice.

So I do have some Majanos. I was going to do a post about them, probably still will. The ones I have are really nice green ones. I have had them for a couple years now. Probably 20 in one tank and a dozen in another. I think I would rather have Majanos over Porcillapora, in fact I know I would. I have so many other corals that have become "pests" over the few Majanos I have.
Ok, truth time. I woke up a month ago to a majano on my glass, I peeled it off the glass and put it in a condiment cup with some tank water. I have been faithfully changing out the water every day in this cup because I can't bring myself to flush it. Now don't get me wrong, I usually have no problem flushing pulsing zenia, Kenya trees etc. but this little guy, I don't know.

My first thought was to select Majano. It was a bit of a difficult decision, but I considered the reproduction rates. In the end I chose Aiptasia because I would like to feed it to a heard of Nudis.
