Nice to meet you!Another female reefer here Started in the hobby in 2006, took off 4 years in between now and then while in another state. Got back in the hobby late 2015. Currently we have 3 tanks.
Welcome! Spending in this hobby is a roller coaster, I've often thought okay I'm done for a while and then something catches my eye, a new controller or coral. Oops.Hi girls!
I am new here. Me and my hubby always wanted a reef tank in our house, even before we could afford travelling to exotic places to snorkel. A year ago we finally did it, a 170 gallon tank in our livingroom. We did have a fresh water tank for 20 years with Discus, so not exactly newbies as keepers of aquatic life. Although it required another kind of knowledge keeping marine species.
I would say I have read a lot more about how to keep marine life than my hubby, but we both love this hobby and it’s nice we never argue about budget concerning our reef. As a result the spending could be somewhat a little too high now and then .
I am curious why there are more guys in reefing? Compared to animal keeping in general. Any thoughts?

Nice to meet you too. Love the Leopard wrasse in your Avatar. I have a blue star, she gave me quite a scare a few weeks back when she was laying on the sand breathing hard. @Humblefish was kind enough to walk me through some scenarios - turns out that she (most likely) tried to jump out and banged her head on the screen top.I‘m also a woman enjoying this great hobby. Nice to meet you all!
Thanks! Love my leopards. Hope your blue star is back to herself! They’re beautiful wrasses! I have a diamond tail flasher that likes to ping pong himself off my screen top every time I feed LOLNice to meet you too. Love the Leopard wrasse in your Avatar. So excited to know I’m not the only salty gal around.
The guys at the LFS look at my husband when I’m the one who asks the questions and my husband just points to me and says tell her I don’t know what you’re talking about
I guess he’s not comfortable with the ladies
Love to all you salty ladies out there. There is nothing we can’t do!!
