Either way there is really nothing you could do. I would think yes, eventually the coral will grow over the worm. The coral will shield it from getting flow which will slowly starve it.
Keep in mind feather dusters are worms, they can move. They can exit the tube and build a new one. Either the worm moves or what @WalkerLovesTheOcean said will happen
I have a feather duster and its tube grows WAY faster than the coral it’s on. I imagine it would just grow away from the coral as the coral approaches.
