Will BTA sting kill the whole coral or just the portion it stings?

BTA is touching a piece of my stylophora.. not sure if I can drag it since it’s attached to the rock work.

What ever part it touches will die.
You can point a powerhead in its direction. It won't like it and will move on its own. ...It may be in a good or bad spot for you

I’m fine with the spot, ideally I’d just trim the stylo back.

So the part that died won’t spread elsewhere?
