Why did the live sand turn grey?

After the hair algae or bryopsis came into my tank, the top of the sandbed started turning grey. Does anyone know why or what's happening?

Just getting dirty just like new socks get dingy with wear.

Sounds like a buildup of detritus maybe? How is your flow?

Flow is kind of weak. It's hard to take pictures of it.

Will it go away?

Honestly it is hard to tell without pic's. Did you use new dry sand? It does usually get a bit of color to it after some time.

Live sand from Caribsea; I'm not sure if that counts as "dry". It was slightly moist to begin with.
