Ive got a 5 inch piece of gsp ive had since may, it was 1 inch long when i got it. It was about 5” in September so i fragged a 1” square off of it. Ever since i fragged it it has had minimal polyp extension, maybe just 2 polyps per sq inch. Previously all polyps were fully extended. I’ve patiently been waiting and once a month or so ill move it to more flow, less flow, more light, and less light. Nothing seems to work. My tank has a variety of lps, sps, and softies that are doing just fine but for whatever reason, i cant seem to get my gsp back to its happy flowing self.
temp 79
Salinity 1.026
Ph 8.1
Alk 9.6
Calc 440
Magn 1260
Nitrate 15 ppm
Phos .03

I would really like to get this coral thriving again but im just not sure why it doesn’t seem happy in my tank.

Have the parameters changed much since you fragged it? I know mine like lower light and higher flow. They also tend to like dirtier water and I keep my nitrates around 30ish. Alkalinity may be a little high but not sure if that affects GSP. Mine slowly went up to 9.8 and I brought it down to 8.3 over the course of a month. Today, my GSP is the happiest I've seen it in a while.

Nitrates 36.8
Phosphates 0.05
Alk 8.3
Mag 1320
Cal 440
pH 8.3
Salinity 1.026
Temp 79.8
