Yes it is a great place. There is no good places by me. takes 1-1/2 hr to get there but worth it.

Yes there is ABC reefs in solvay, fish finatics in east Syracuse and I believe someone else is opening up another store in liverpool

Fish fanatic is ok for fish. Not much coral there very small frag tank at front counter and few small tanks in a side room. But I have gotten some nice zoas there and some gsp

the best thing in the area is the 2 frag swaps one at fish fanatics and one at abc. unfortunately with online retailers having everything you want with just a click, no tax free shipping or cheap shipping and also points earned for puchases its really tough to buy local

The problem with buying online is that you have to be there when the package arrives , this means time off of work. so a few decent reef shops within an 1-1/2 hr drive on a saturday or sunday make it nice. My area the southern tier has squat for good lfs.

Yes it cost me up to 400 bucks to take a day off and sit home waiting for a package to arrive... I’ll drive to the city and shop then I know exactly what I’m getting and that it will be in good health when I get it home. I’m in Syracuse regularly for work anyway. Quick trip cross town and I’m at the lfs. Well worth the drive to me.
