Hi everyone.
So we stocked our new, fully-cycled tank with two ocellaris clownfish and one euphyllia divisa frag (around 5*5*5cm) 4 weeks ago. The ocellaris are doing great, but the euphyllia never fully expanded and seems to be receding now. This morning, it has not opened at all.
We noticed some white fuzz around the flesh as you can see on the pictures, so guess we now have the „white fuzz disease“.
Right now I‘m preparing our quarantine tank for the coral. What‘s the recommended procedure? I heard of dips in H2O2 (which percentage?) and iodine solutions, or anti-fungus-medication, or amino acid. What are your recommended products and procedures?
Aside of trying to heal the coral, I‘d like to know if the reason for the outbreak lies in my tank parameters:
T = 25°C +- 0.1°C
Salinity = 33.5 psu (slowly bringing it up from 33 to 35)
Ammonium = 0
Nitrate = 1 ppm
Nitrite = 0
Phosphate almost zero
Magnesium = 1240 ppm
Calcium = 470ppm
Alkalinity = 8.9
pH = 8.2
We even did an ICP Water Analysis, everything looked nominal except for:
Si = 0,0596 mg /l (around 40% lower than nominal)
Ni = 1,687 µg / l (around 37% lower than nominal)
Co: Not measurable (so, too low?)
Aluminium = 43,238 µg/l (around 247% higher than ideal, max should be around 30?)
Really looking forward for your help!
