Hello all,

Which of the mimic tangs is this? I am hoping it’s a chocolate but not sure.

Thank you!

Interesting. The shape of the fins doesn’t look to me like an orange shoulder juvenile. Really hoping for a chocolate but there’s several of these little guys that are very similar at this age. It is about 1.75 inches from nose to tip so very small still.

Pyroferus is the species you have - the other two have clear juveniles with Tristis being the only mimic to eibli but Chronixis sharing the half black mimic with Pyroferus.

If it was an Orange Shoulder even the small juveniles have that orange shoulder and yours is lacking it.
