Good morning All

Tank is 18 months old now and at last some SPS corals are growing well. I need to ‘prune’ a plating montipora which is now shading 2 other corals. Is there any way to glue the frags usefully to odd corners of the tank? Where would you place them? Will they glue easily being thin? Thanks for any ideas.

I put mine over caves, it adds more depth to them and adds shade for my mushrooms. You can also put them lower they naturally will spiral up and not shade anything under.

Thank you. Good ideas. Do the thin edges glue easily?

I put mine on the sand bed or in the trash. I'm not being a wise butt. Nobody wants them and I am not keeping a frag tank for montis.
I know what you mean. I have a neighbour who is after a piece so he will get a frag…

I use the BRS super glue gel extra thick for all my corals. I’m sure you can glue thin frags of monti caps with any reef safe glue, but you may have to assist and hold pressure for few minutes to glue.

Right, I save them back for folks who ask. But everyone who I know in the hobby already has a piece of each of my Dumpsterporas. If I do a big frag event I'll trade them for 65 cents worth of credit at the LFS to put towards fish food.

Monti's glue very easily, you shouldn't have any difficulty with that. Wherever you put them, give them space, once they acclimate to your tank, they will grow fast, and they will always win the fight against other corals.

Same, lol.
I had a green one with blue polyps. It was nice and all but what a pita to trim it constantly.
I have that one also. Kind of a pink growth edge. Really nice looking. But I set it low in my tank so it's not so aggressively growing. Oh that red cap that I thought would be a great space filler on the back side is for sure doing that.

Mine started to grow up the back wall. Yes, it has the pink/purple edge.
When I changed tanks, I left that one out.
