I dose kalkwasser with a Litermeter from a still reservoir. If you are looking for a one pump solution, there you have it.

Thank you Randy...will look into that.

Here's a copy and past from a previous post:

No, that's not a useful product.

Really disappointing they still market it. Folks should not be fooled by the misleading kalk+2 product by Brightwell.

Magnesium is not soluble in limewater, so it will just sit on the bottom and worse, the amount present in kalk+2 is not nearly enough to meet the demand for magnesium, and far worse yet, is LESS than is present in many bulk brands of calcium hydroxide as an impurity.

Here's the Brightwell kalk+2 claim:

http://brightwellaquatics.com/products/kalk2t.php

Guaranteed Analysis
Calcium (min) 54.20% (542,000 ppm), Strontium (min) 1.00% (10,000 ppm), Magnesium (min) 0.15% (1,500 ppm)

So that is a ratio of magnesium to calcium of 1:361.

I show in this article that bulk calcium oxide (dried calcium hydroxide) has more magnesium as an impurity (1:263) and that in the actual limewater, the magnesium ratio does not exceed 1:36,000, with the remainder ending up undissolved on the bottom.

Magnesium and Strontium in Limewater

I show in this article that a typical coral or coralline aglae incorporation rate is 0.1 to 4%by weight, for a ratio of about 1:400 to 1:10.

I use ATI Essentials Pro.
#1 is ALK (plus Iodine and sulfur)
#2 is CA/MG (plus trace elements)

I have a small tank and not a ton of SPS, so I don't really have to dose much to keep up with demand.
a bottle lasts me a good long time. no complaints, but I'm a low volume user.

I not sure I accept the suggesting that you have unbalanced demand, but if you only have one doser, the options are more limited, and the best choices would be (IMO, and not in any particular order):

1. TM All For Reef
2. A two/three part, with alk on the doser, and that other two parts manual. Calcium manual once every few days and the third part (if any) once every one-2 weeks.
3. Kalkwasser (I used it for 20 years)

"Me Coral" Calc, Alk and Mg. Powders diluted in RODI. I dilute the Mg with double the water and then dose the same 13 ml 2x/day of Calc and Alk and Mg and that seems to work. (110 gal mixed reef) Calc runs a little low sometimes. So I hang a bag (yes an IV bag) with 2l of extra diluted Calc and let it drip at about 6 drops per min until it runs out. I also do a small water change 2x every day so some of my dosing is in the form of "new water". It's a balance until it's not, then I adjust the amount being dosed.

Thank you. i’m doing further research into redseas mixed reef program since i recently switched to redsea blue bucket salt. i believe it will be necessary to also replenish other elements as well since its known for having lower levels than other salts.

will also look into all for reef!
