Hi all,

My chicago sunburst anemone has split overnight. I now seem to have two.
Not complaining, but is there anything I should or shouldn't do for a while?
Can I feed as usual or hold off for a while?
I have never seen an anemone so expensive. I have a Toatally different kind of anemone called sunburst anemone. When they split it means another anemone so it’s a thing to celebrate. You should feed the babies extra though, (not right away). Never seen them split two times consecutively, but since BTA’s form colonies in the wild it is not so hard to believe. When anemones split it can also be of stress, but I doubt yours are stressed. Good luck!

I’ve seen a large one split 4 times. Mine get big then split. I don’t feed them directly or I’d have like a billion. When they are really happy they split. When they are really stressed they split. I’ve always enjoyed clownfish playing in anemones. I have 4 clownfish in this anemone island.

Wow! That's my dream for this office tank. Just anemones and clowns playing around in them.

I have large Planet Tank. Started out as a couple of BTA's. Got sick spent a month in rehab.couple became 6-8, then 12-20....now every full moon wo knows How many more
I will have...I now have 5 to 6 ft of an 8ft tank covered with Rainbow BTA's... They will move to where they like and sting other corals for the space if they think it's better. A competing type of anenome will sometimes limit growth til one wins.

Its a rainbow, not a CSB either. Hopefully you didn't pay for it as a CSB.
Could you tell me what kind of nem I have? My wife surprised me with it and said she got it as a black widow but it doesn’t look like one, it has some green on the base of its tentacles and some gold to it and no webbing

Most likely standard rose bubble tip but may be Sherman bubble tip hard to tell from pics

Someone on here had mentioned it could be a sunburst? I thought Sherman but mine has some green and I thought a standard BTA but it doesn’t have red or pink on it

Not sure, looks nice though. It's not a black widow. Is the foot bright green or marbled?

An iphone camera under blue lights doesn't really capture the true colors.
In person, this is what they look like:

This doesn’t look like your first 2 pictures, which look like they have purple dotted tips, which are not on CSBs, and it looks just like a nice RBTA. A marbled foot would support it though. I agree with the other 2 people of it being different, regardless of lighting in the pics. Just a cause for concern of if whomever you bought it from potentially ripping you off and holding them accountable/getting your money back.
