I have a Photosynthetic Gorgonian I fragged and am trying to attack to a piece of rock. I learned glue won’t work the hard way. Can I use string and tie it to the rock? Suggestions on what string to use? Fishing line be okay?

You could glue it. You need to strip the flesh off the bottom of the gorg where the glue makes contact, glue it to the rock and dip immediately into saltwater.

I think most any string is going to be fine, but its more a question of durability. Cotton is going to degrade rather quickly for example. Rubber bands are tried and true for this purpose in the hobby.

Drill a small hole in the rock. Strip the flesh from the bottom of gorgo and superglue in hole. If you cant drill, use a lump of epoxy and poke a hole in it with a toothpick and strip/glue.

I tried supergluing the Gorg into a piece of rock with the stripped off flesh, and even with some of the flesh touching the super glue it melted off.
