What salinity do you guys keep your FOWLR ? Sepcially bit larger tanks than 50g?
All the large FOWLR tanks I see in youtube abover 180 gallon does not seems to have any cleanup crew like shrimp or snails. Are they going low salinity with those big fish ?
Trying to setup my 180 gallon FOWLR and would like to get some srimp in there. Which means might need to have abover 1.024 salinity.

I aim for 1.020 sg. in my 135g fowlr, just to save a little on salt. The fish don’t mind at all. I don’t have any inverts in there as the fish would eat them. (Predator tank)

Its amazing that no vote for 1.023 or 1.024 :) . I guess peopel tend to keep it at NSW level or a lot below that level. I was hoping to go around 1.022 with inverters and see if they will be ok.

I used to keep my FOWLR at 1.020 but realized I wasn’t really saving that much $$ so now I keep it at 1.023.

I'm planning on setting up a 40G FOWLR in a couple of months and was thinking of keeping the salinity at 1.022. In fact my LFS sells 1.022 saltwater for FOWLR tanks. But I was also wanting to get a mandarin dragonet and was going to seed cocoapods and run a refugium, and I'm not sure how the cocoapods would do at 1.022, anyone have any experience?

I would say 1.022 is fine. I keep my FOWLR at 1.023 and have lots of pods.

If I had a FOWLR, I’d probably keep it around 35ppt.
