Lets learn from others mistakes...Make a list of JUNK that sounds great to the new reefers, but it nothing but a waste of money.

1. "fully cured" live rock

No matter what you do, short of having it shipped in a bucket of water (which isnt done) its going to have die off, and still cause a cycle. Dont pay a huge premium for rock advertized as "fully cured". Just my opinion.

2. Seaclone skimmer's or any of these cheaper like models!

Do your homework and get something good the first time and save money in the long run!

Hang off the back overflows....just bite the bullet, and get a drilled tank, your floors, carpet, or the like, will thank you.

Rio pumps, only really good to mix salt water for a water change IMO

Seaclone skimmers, one worst skimmer i had ever seen

I like my plastic refract. It has yet to fail me...I have heard of horror stories that people had bad readings from refracts....Cant argue with simplicity, JMO!

I would suggest, go very slow and learn as you go. Ask questions from those w/ more exp. and take that as a guide.

Oh yeah, stay away from GSP, Anthelia, and Xenia!!! (LOL!)

I agree on the seaclone.

I wont even use a rio to mix water. My buddy almost fried himself with one.

Current Fission nano skimmers. Supposed to be great for nano tanks, but all they do is pump water out of the tank.
